DJ YoBro Playlist on FratMuzic.com
Posted in BlogMy friend started a site called “Frat Muzic: Making The Hangover Worth It”.
I contributed a playlist: http://www.fratmuzic.com/YoBro.php
Check it out!
I was at EDC this weekend in Los Angeles at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The show was epic. 2 days of insanity. It was a huge production, and the talent was top-notch. I also went to EDC last year, and this year blew it away. My favorites were ATB on Friday and Benny Benassi on Saturday. Check out a few videos from the show below on YouTube. The videos mostly feature ATB and Boys Noize.
Great quote from Wolfgang Gartner
Posted in BlogIn his recent interview with BeatPort, Gartner said “Everything I do has to be better than the last thing I did. This mostly applies to music.” I couldn’t agree more. Here is Wolfgang’s latest track, and it rocks!
Homemade Daft Punk Helmet
Posted in BlogThis has to be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. Harrison Krix, a prop-maker in Atlanta, took 17 months to build a replica (maybe better) Daft Punk helmet complete with LEDs and circuit boards. The results speak for themselves:

I can’t wait for the Vestax VCM-600!
Posted in BlogNo one seems to have it in stock yet, but this seems like a great MIDI controller to use with Ableton Live. I’ll buy it the day it becomes available.
I’m debating between the Akai APC40 and the Vestax VCM-600 to use as my primary Ableton Live MIDI controller.
Posted in BlogThe Akai APC40:
- Designed in partnership with Ableton
- Unique clip matrix with multicolor lighting displays current clip status
- No mapping required for use with Ableton Live
- Exclusive bidirectional communication between the APC40 and Ableton Live
- Professional feel with rugged, metal chassis and premium controls
- Comes with Ableton Live Akai Professional APC Edition, free upgrade patch for full versions of Live
- USB plug-and-play connection for Mac and PC
- Premium controller with rugged, metal chassis
or the Vestax VCM-600:
- The VCM-600 can control 160 parameters of Ableton Live software and other MIDI compliant DAW software with high resolution MIDI signals sent via USB.
- Multi track control (track bank)
- High quality input faders and pitch faders from the VCI-100 and PMC-580 are also applied to the VCM-600 for advanced operability.
- Vestax quality Input fader/Cross fader curve control
- Simple plug & play activation with Macintosh and Windows operating system computers.
- Lightweight, high durability aluminum body
In a Trance Mood
Posted in BlogRecently, I’ve been working on a new trance song. Even though I like listening to trance music, I’ve previously shied away from making it because I usually don’t have the required patience. I don’t have anything to share yet, but stay tuned… In the meantime, check out these great songs from which I draw inspiration.
This is an interesting turn of events. Insomniac Events (the company which produces the Electric Daisy Carnival, among other large electronic music festivals) is suing the city of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Convention Center after their contract for the October 30th show was cancelled. Politics aside, I am disappointed because I was planning on seeing the mighty Tiesto live for the fifth time! WTF
Here’s the press release:
New website!
